As the Pause Awards 2024 approach their grand finale on 2nd December, anticipation builds not only for the recognition of groundbreaking achievements but also for the unparalleled opportunities that lie ahead for the winners. 

Second year running, the top innovators will be granted exclusive access to the Growth Mentors Board, a distinguished panel of industry leaders poised to provide personalised guidance and strategic insights. This initiative underscores the Pause Awards’ commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the next generation of trailblazers.

Meet the Mentors:

  • Paul Bassat: Co-founder of Square Peg Capital, Paul is renowned for his acumen in identifying and nurturing high-potential startups, offering invaluable perspectives on scaling businesses.
  • Kate Vale: Joining from California, Kate is a Partner at ALIAVIA Ventures. Her leadership roles at Spotify, YouTube and Google equip her with deep insights into global market expansion and innovative business strategies.
  • Paul Naphtali: As Managing Partner at Rampersand, Paul brings extensive experience in guiding early-stage technology companies toward sustainable growth, emphasising strategic development and market positioning.
  • Dominic Pym: Co-founder of Euphemia and UP Bank, Dominic is a serial entrepreneur with a track record of building successful tech ventures, offering expertise in product development and market strategy.
  • Kate Gooden: A leader at Amazon Alexa ANZ, Kate specialises in voice technology and user experience, bringing a wealth of knowledge in innovative product ecosystems.

Exclusive Mentorship Opportunity:

Each overall winner from the five Category Tracks—Culture, Excellence, Good, Growth, and Operators—will receive a 30-minute mentorship session with one of these distinguished mentors. This personalised guidance is designed to provide strategic insights and accelerate business growth and innovation.

In a new initiative this year, mentors will personally select the winners they wish to mentor, ensuring a tailored and impactful mentorship experience. This private matchmaking approach aims to align the expertise of mentors with the specific needs and aspirations of the winners.

The anticipation builds as the live event on 2nd December approaches, promising to be the most electric industry night in the country. Winners will be announced during this celebration, marking the culmination of a journey of innovation and excellence.

The Excellence track celebrates businesses that have demonstrated remarkable success and impact within their industry, regardless of their size. Entries for this category should illustrate how the business's strategic execution, guided by visionary leadership and exceptional expertise, has significantly influenced the industry. The focus will be on the tangible outcomes of these strategies, highlighting the company's ability to innovate, lead, and leave a lasting impression in its field.

The Good track is focused on recognising companies dedicated to their mission of creating a positive societal impact. Entries should highlight innovative solutions aimed at addressing global challenges such as environmental sustainability, social equity, and community well-being. Successful submissions will demonstrate how their initiatives contribute to significant changes, tackling issues like gender inequality, social imbalance, and injustice, thereby setting a precedent for responsible and impactful business practices.

Awarded to a single entry in a category, Grand Prix is the top accolade in that category. To win the Grand Prix, the entire Judging Board must unanimously agree that the entry deserves the accolade of being the best in that category.

The Growth track is about showcasing how businesses have enhanced productivity and execution to make a significant impact in their market. Entries should highlight innovative strategies that have optimised the customer journey, leading to increased engagement and commercial success. This track is for those who have effectively used their understanding of the market and customer needs to scale their business and achieve notable growth.

The Operators track seeks entries that showcase leadership in fostering innovation within their ecosystems. Ideal submissions will highlight how your initiatives have catalysed the creation of new products or services, bolstered by a culture that uplifts internal teams and the wider community. This track celebrates those who drive progress by empowering voices and forging transformative connections in their industry.
