Introducing ReSource, the winner of the Pause Awards 2023 in the ‘Circular pioneer’ category under Good Category Track.

ReSource is the largest and most technologically advanced e-waste processing company in Australia, with the capacity to process up to 20 million kgs of electronics annually. We process all types of e-waste, diverting up to 90% of raw materials for reuse and creating a one-stop-shop for waste companies, councils, manufacturers and sustainability-focused businesses looking for simple, transparent, and efficient e-waste recycling solutions.

At Pause Awards, we unite to spotlight simple and elegant solutions to the challenging business problems, well executed that resulted in a positive market adoption that brought business success. So let’s peek inside their breakthrough.

What was your breakthrough moment?

ReSource’s e-waste plant has been a dream in the making since 2018, but it wasn’t until about 18 months ago that things started coming to fruition. In the last 12 months, we have undergone the most significant changes in our business’ short history. We have evolved from inhabiting two small old facilities to one large 15,000 sqm site. This new site is far bigger than we will need over the next few years, but our vision for the business will see us fill the facility over the course of our 20 year lease.

Before moving into the facility, we designed the evolution of the equipment over the next five years, planning how to use every square metre of the factory. Stage one of the processing equipment arrived in January 2023 and was commissioned in May 2023. Our preparation has laid the framework and infrastructure for future growth to springboard us forward towards our vision.
